A transactional leader is aware of the relationship between the effort and the reward. This type of leader will promise rewards to motivate its members to complete a task. If work isn't being done properly, they will give punishments. Transactional leaders will also set goals for it's members to motivate them in working on a task. Transformational leaders will motivate its workers through speech by communicating emotions that will help members understand how to go about a project. This type of leader will look at peoples abilities and will expect more of its members to keep them motivated and confident.
